Color, Balloons and Murals, Oh My!

Our inspiration for this styled shoot began with the mural. We loved the color, the texture and the fun that exuded from this beautifully painted wall, created by Nicole Fontana with the High Desert Mural Festival. After we found our location, we built our design around the color, the feeling and the unexpected.

We had been seeing, and pinning, balloon installation after balloon installation, and we knew that this shoot was the perfect opportunity to create one. We choose our colors, learned how to expertly design the perfect balloon display and spent an entire afternoon making our vision come to life. What resulted was beyond what we expected, and it added just the right amount of whimsy!

Our beautiful bride and groom were expertly dressed by Cordially Invited Bridal Boutique. The bride's playful, sweetheart gown perfectly complimented the groom's light grey suit and pink bowtie. Our hair and makeup professional, Austin Gale, completed the look with a bridal faux hawk braid and soft, sweet makeup.

For our tablescape, we created funky place mats out of plexiglass and some smeared peach paint. We added a little calligraphy and they instantly doubled as name cards. Our tableware and flatware was provided by our favorite local wedding registry service, Nicole Michelle Decor. With so many colors, we opted for textured white plates and fabulous gold flatware. And you can't have a table setting without a stunning cookie! Bekah, from Toodles Confections, made our gorgeous champagne glass cookies, that were just as delicious as they were adorable!

For the middle of our table, Woodland Floral created an elegant, asymmetrical floral garland, full of color and charm! We completed the look with DIY brass candlesticks painted white in modern, geometric patterns.

Woodland Floral also designed our to-die-for bouquet and the ravishing floral creation on the EMW Fusion food truck. This big blue food truck served the most delicious pandos, which is a Korean style pancake fused with a sandwich. The perfect finger food for your off-beat wedding!

Our knockout photos were taken by Natalie Puls, artful photographer of love and adventure. She masterfully captured the whimsical energy we felt from the first time we saw the mural. We ended the day with some city shots, to show Bend, Oregon's more urban side. After all, we're not just about the mountains and trees.
