It Started with a Dress, and Ended with a Splash

In December of 2014, I started planning my very first wedding, my own. We chose Black Butte Ranch in Sisters, Oregon to be the place that we would say our vows, dance together with family and friends and jump in the pool at the end of the night, even though we didn't know it at the time!

I carefully selected all of my vendors, and wanted Central Oregon to be well represented. Ely Roberts was our amazing photographer, and as you can tell, he killed it! I found our videographer, Mike Hiatt Media at our local Cascades Wedding Show, and he blew our minds away. Check out his next day edited video at the bottom of this post. At the wedding show, I also found our florist, Tracy from Woodland Floral, and I was so impressed with how she made our floral vision come to life.

One of the hardest things for me was to find my dress. I went to shop after shop and never had that "this is the one" moment, until I went to Ania Bridal in Portland. They really thought outside of the box and as I tried on my dress, I knew instantly that it was the one. It wasn't white, or even your typical wedding gown, but I knew it was the perfect dress for me. I found my beautiful, matching blush shoes from Vanilla Urban Threads.

As we rounded out our wedding vendors, we selected Bend Event Sound to be our one-of-a-kind DJ. We also choose Adventure Box Photo Booth for our guests to take fun photos together with props. We had VooDoo Doughnuts as our dessert, because they are our favorite sweet treat. The Cake Lady created our beautiful cutting cake, and it was so delicious! We selected our fabulous rental decor, including the brown medicine bottles, lawn games and signage, from ae Creative. Our favors were heart-shaped soaps created by a local soap company, Wanderlust Soap Company. We found our wedding rings at Saxon's Fine Jewelers. They helped us pick rings that completely reflected our personalities. Our bridal party attire, including the bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen suits, were provided by Bella Brides.

All in all, it was a magical day, and all of the vendors who had a hand in that day, made it so. And adding hints of our personalities to every piece of the day, made it unique and special for us and all of our guests.
