Meet Bree Denman: Founder | Wedding Planner

Bree is the founder of The Indigo Bride, she launched the business in 2017. She honestly can’t remember a time when she wasn’t planning or organizing, she was born with the gene, and didn’t realize the full potential of these talents until she planned her own wedding! That is when she fell in love with wedding planning – she was certain this was her path and has been pursuing that goal ever since. Bree is a true creative, her ability to design something beautiful and see it come to fruition is truly magical. She loves sharing that journey with couples that are committing their lives to each other which makes the process even more remarkable.

What has been your favorite wedding that you have worked, or attended?

I loved Caroline and Cory’s October 2020 wedding! They were married during sunset on the shores of Sparks Lake with thirteen of their closest friends and family. For dinner, they enjoyed a custom six course meal created by Sunriver Resort. It was exactly what they wanted for their micro wedding. We had some hiccups because of COVID, but we were able to adjust and pull off a beautiful wedding with personalized details, like hints of Caroline’s favorite color, teal, in the decor and servings of their favorite dessert, Goody’s ice cream, for all of the guests. Every bit of this wedding was so fun to plan, and seeing Caroline and Cory enjoy all of those details and share their love with friends and family, was the true highlight.

What are some of your favorite wedding trends that you are seeing?

I’m loving wild floral pieces in unexpected places. And bold monochromatic colors. And playing with lighting options, like string and bistro lights in different designs, to create intimate spaces out of nothing. And of course, balloons! I’m loving muted balloon installations for weddings. But my favorite trend might have to be creating personalized pieces throughout the wedding to give a nod to the couple and their relationship, like naming your signature cocktails after your pets or selecting your menu based on your first date dinner. Those little pieces are what guests remember and they create the memories that you’ll treasure forever.

What is your favorite part of a wedding day?

I love listening to the toasts! It’s such a fun time to get to know our couples through the eyes of their closest friends and family members. You always get to hear the funniest stories that way too!

Favorite processional, first dance or reception song?

I love “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole. It always brings tears to my eyes! I also love any version of “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. There are so many versions, and they’re all so good! I also had both of these songs in my own wedding, so I may be biased.

Favorite wedding gown designer?

I love the modern styles from Made with Love Bridal and the flowy boho dresses from Wilderly Bride. I also love Sweet Caroline Styles for their fun, colorful skirts and two piece outfits. And when in doubt, you can’t go wrong with a dress from BHLDN!

Favorite wedding inspiration account on social media?

I love anything @greenweddingshoes! They always feature outside-of-the-box ideas and trends! I love anything new and unique. I also love following Australian wedding accounts, like @modernweddingmagazine or @hellomaymagazine or @wedshed. I love that they’re not afraid to be funky with their designs. It really spurs on a lot of inspiration and creativity for me.

In your free time, we can find you:

Spending time with my husband, Blake, and our furry golden-doodle, June. She was named after the month we got married! We love hiking, brainstorming about business, and spending time with friends and family. If you catch me vegging out, I’m probably listening to true crime podcasts or binge watching terrible reality TV. Hey, we all have our vices!

What has been your favorite wedding that you have worked, or attended?

My love affair with weddings started many years ago, yet was truly cemented with a few events that made me truly realize that this is my passion and the industry for me. An example of this is while I was working as a sales and venue coordinator for a luxury hotel in Boulder, Colorado. I had the opportunity to plan my first Indian wedding. I adored working with the couple to add in so many personalized details, along with learning more about their family’s traditions along the way. We hosted several tastings where we recreated old family recipes and invented signature cocktails, along with many extensive planning meetings, as it was a full weekend of celebration. The events were so bright, vibrant, colorful, full of joy – everything was flawless and the couple and their guests had the best time! The bride even gifted me a saree to wear, which I still have in my closet today!

What are some of your favorite wedding trends that you are seeing?

I am loving wedding hats as part of attire! As well as using fresh florals in a unique way, like as a statement necklace or cufflinks. I also love when fresh fruits or vegetables are included as part of a bouquet or centerpieces on the reception tables. The idea of hosting a smaller more intimate wedding, yet totally going over the top for your nearest and dearest, is also a trend I’m enjoying.

What is your favorite part of a wedding day?

For the setup portion of the day, it’s when the florist arrives. I love seeing all the pops of color, enjoying the fragrance and it just feels like the icing on the cake! For the wedding itself, the moment the bride starts walking down the aisle and all the guests stand to view her – that gives me goosebumps every time!

Favorite processional, first dance or reception song?

For reception, I love a good ole fashion family dance to Sister Sledge “We are Family” to get all your cousins or grandma dancing. I also love Bee Gees “Stayin’ Alive” or really any type of Disco will always get me on the dance floor! For the first dance, I am sucker for just about any country song, but especially if it’s Chris Stapleton.

Favorite wedding gown designer?

Hailey Page I love her sparkle and sass! (and she has a super cute bulldog that is often making appearances on her IG) Willowby or Made with Love Bridal for more natural, boho looks.

Spending time in nature, with my hubby Darin and our adorable French bulldog, Pono. I love to paddleboard, hike, camp, really any way to soak up the sunshine! I love traveling and have spent a lot of time visiting the US National Parks – 30 of 62 down so far. I also enjoy spending time on the Oregon coast – as a native midwesterner, it’s so wonderful to be able to live within driving distance of the Pacific. I also love fancy coffee, handcrafted cocktails, Thai food and hot sauce!

Meet Victoria Licciardello: Social Media Manager | Wedding Planner

Victoria has been in the hospitality word for as long as she can remember! Her journey started in her hometown of Jackson, New Jersey working at a small off-site Italian catering company. As her love for events grew, she received her Bachelor of Science in Event Management. While receiving her degree, she worked as the Event Manager of a new luxury event space in Providence, Rhode Island. There is where she fell in love with weddings! Getting to know the couple, designing their perfect day and then bringing it to life is what Victoria loves best about wedding planning.  Victoria joined the team in 2019 and has added so much to the company! Her east coast attitude brings a sense of urgency to our team. She is always five steps ahead, leaving no detail unturned. Victoria loves creating seamless wedding experiences for her couples and their guests!

What has been your favorite wedding that you have worked, or attended?

My all time favorite wedding that I’ve attended is actually my sister’s! They hired opera singers, who dressed up and acted like waiters. In the middle of dinner, they were serving the guests food and then broke out into song and put on a show for us all… the guests were so surprised. It was certainly something to remember!

What are some of your favorite wedding trends that you are seeing?

Lately, I’ve been loving the vintage colored water and wine glasses! Colored glasses make the table setup so unique and add color in such a simple and lovely way. Another favorite trend of mine is the “grazing” dessert table! I love when couples have donut walls and towers of cupcakes for their dessert. It allows guests to get up from their tables after a filling dinner and snack on something sweet! Lastly, destination micro weddings! What a heartwarming and intimate experience, when couples do a weekend getaway with their closest friends and family.

What is your favorite part of a wedding day?

My all time favorite part of the wedding is the first dance. I personally think it’s the only time you see the couple in an intimate setting. As they are wrapped into each other’s arms, dancing to a song they chose to express their love… it gets me every time.

Favorite reception song?

NO Brainer! Meatloaf’s “Paradise By The Dashboard Light”. It is honestly such a feel good song to get up, dance and sing along with!

Favorite wedding gown designer?

ROSA CLARÁ, their 2021 collection is absolutely stunning!

Favorite wedding inspiration account on social media?

One of my favorites right now is @modernweddingmagazine. Their page is filled with classy, unique and super trendy ideas! Coming in a close second is @myoverseaswedding. I’m a big traveler and love seeing when couples pick a destination to get married and incorporate those wedding traditions into theirs.

In your free time, we can find you:

In my free time you can find me, going on adventures with my partner Dylan and our fur baby Choca. I love skiing, mountain biking, and swimming in the ocean! Traveling is one of my favorite things to do in the world, so once a year you can find me overseas exploring some new destination. I’m a huge foodie who loves whiskey. On my nights off, I’m usually sitting at a bar enjoying Basil Hayden on the rocks while eating something delicious. On my lazy days, find me cuddled up with Choca on the couch watching documentaries about the Ancient Roman Empire or listening to a Joe Rogan Podcast.

Meet our little families! Introducing Blake, Darin, Dylan and our furbabies, June, Pono and Choca.
